Branches, leaves, flowers, and fruit of twining vines do and do not interpenetrate one another. Thus, buddha ancestors appear, and the fundamental point is actualized.

Welcome to Twining Vines Sangha. We are a Soto Zen Buddhist community in the tradition of the San Francisco Zen Center lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. We serve the Westchester County, NY, and Fairfield County, CT, area as a non-residential community dedicated to the study and practice of Zen Buddhism for lay practitioners. We offer many opportunities for practice including seated meditation, walking meditation, chanting service, talks on Buddhist teachings, classes, work practice, group discussion, and retreats.
We are also committed to the development of sangha and spiritual friendship. Sangha is the Buddhist word for the community of individuals who practice the Buddha’s way of meditation and mindfulness, and spiritual friendship is how we mutually support each other on this path. We are dedicated to exploring creatively together the ways in which life-as-practice can manifest in the world. Please join us.
